B1 B2 Visa Interview Tips

Are you someone who is getting ready or preparing to go to your B1 or B2 visa interview, but don’t know what to do? Well in this post I will help prepare for your nonimmigrant visa interview with 5 tips. Disclaimer: I am not providing any legal advice in the post.

During your B1 and B2 visa interview, you will be asked a series of questions by an officer and the number of questions will vary depending on the answers you gave.  However I will go over some interview preparation tips with you that will help you prepare for your tourist or business visa interview.

Tips #1

One thing you have to know is to be honest in your answers, do not lie, and make sure you are truthful in everything you say during the B1 B2 visa interview.

Tips #2

Make sure you get to the interview location ahead of time before it starts. Since there will be lots of people waiting to be interviewed, getting there early will help you organize and go through your documents. Having all your documentation ready will make the officer’s job as easier as possible.

Tips #3

Be polite, respectful and confident, of course you will be nervous when you go to the interview, but trust me interviewers are used to that. Maintain eye contact with the officer who is asking the questions, don’t be defensive in your answers.

Tips #4

When the interviewer asks you to see your passport, don’t just hand it over to the officer, say something like I have it ready for you right here.

Tips #5

Before you go to your B1 B2 visa interview, make sure you have:

-You passport

-Your fight ticket

– Print out all booking confirmation emails (hotel, tourist attraction, event etc…

– Bank statement or check

– Affidavit of Support (in case you will be supported by a friend or family member)

– Invitation letter

– Any evidence showing that you will return back to your home country

– Any other documents listed on the U.S consulate website.

I hope you learned something from this post, if you do and know someone who will benefit from it, please share it. Thanks for reading
