Filling out form I-864 is not just what you need to sponsor an intend immigrant to come to United States of America. You need to prove that you meet the financial requirements which is three times the difference between your income and 125% of Federal Poverty Guidelines if you are sponsoring your wife and kids and five times if you are sponsoring someone else. To prove that, you have to provide some financial documents or evidence based on your employment, unemployment or retirement status.
DOCUMENTS NEEDED

– If you are employed then you will need your pay stub, your w2 form and tax return of the last three years.
– If you are self employed then you will provide your tax return form and also a signed letter with your company letterhead showing your company name and business license.
– If you are retired, you will provide any income you are receiving as retired like social security benefit and also any assets you have.
– If you are unemployed, you will provide information about your unemployment benefit..
