When the I-130 petition is approved and move to NVC and the petitioner doesn’t meet the income requirements which is 125% of the Federal poverty guideline in most cases if the petitioner is civilian and 100% of the Federal poverty guideline if the petitioner is member of the US armed forces, he or she can use the intending immigrant as household member. By doing so, the intending immigrant will meet certain requirement before putting his or her income available for the petitioner to sponsor him or her.
