  1. I filed a I-130 petition for my wife and currently our case is in NVC stage. When submitting AOS NVC asking to submit my most recent tax transcript or tax return. But since I filed Tax Extension for 2019 return, Is it ok to submit 2016,2017 and 2018 tax transcripts instead.

    1. Hello, this is not a legal advice: Yes you can submit your 2016, 2017 and 2018.You can also submit you w2 for 2019. If NVC ask you about 2019 later, hopefully you will have the documents ready. Thanks

Hello! I have married 1 year back after divorce .my new wife has 2 daughter one is 16 and other is 20.so i filled i 130 form for my wife and one 16 year daughter.now i got approved i130 for my wife and 16year daughter.i have my 10 years own daughter as well who is living with my ex wife.so when i fill my wife ds260 form do i have to keep her 16 years daughtet, 20 years daughter and her 10 years step child in her ds 260? Or only i have to mention my wife n 16 years daughter in ds 260 form?

    1. Hello, this is not a legal advice: i think it will depend on the question you are answering on the DS 260. The DS 260 is an immigrant visa form and will be used by individual who will get an immigrant visa to come to the US. In this case your wife and her 16 years old daughter. Thanks

  6. Hello usamonde,
    I’m a Nigerian.
I was scheduled for Interview on March 12,2020.
    Visa class is CR1.
Unfortunately, all interview scheduled for that day cancelled by the US consulate,Lagos. An email was sent to the effect of the cancellation stating clearly the cancellation was due to administrative issues.
According to the email, the Consulate was to reschedule the interview and contact us the following week as regards the date.Unfortunately, pandemic (COVID-19) paralysed all activities.
Till date, there has been no mail or communication from the Consulate as regards rescheduling appointment.
Several calls and emails was put through to them, they never gave a positive response.
3 days ago when I checked my visa status it states “Expiring Soon”.
It has always been on “Ready” till 3 days ago.
I sent a mail to the Embassy when I saw this attaching the evidence of cancellation of interview email that was received by them last year.I still await their response on that.
I want to know if I did the right thing.

    2) Is IB1 visa class the same as CR1 visa class?
