PUBLIC CHARGE DECISIONS WILL BE BASED ON THESE FACTORS

If you are a petitioner and you petition for your relative (mother, father, child, siblings) you will file affidavit of support to prove to the US government that you will be financially responsible for your relative once he or she moves to USA. Now only affidavit of support won’t be enough, the immigrant visa applicant will fill out DS 5540 which is a public charge questionnaire and provide evidence to support the form. Even by doing that the consular officers will still determine whether or not the applicant (your relative) will become a public charge upon arrival to the U.S. In this video i talk about the factors the consular officers base their public charge decision on. I hope you will like the video and thanks for watching.
